    This new LSD rocks.

Ok, I've installed the R LSD, Clutch Specialties Clutch, and the R Flywheel.

The biggest difference comes from the LSD. I thought I'd only see the differences when accelerating out of corners, and making hard launches. Nope. You can tell it, nearly all the time, unless you are driving in a perfect straight line crusing. The torque steer is nearly gone. Corners are great. It feels like the car is being pulled through the corner, instead of pushing it through the corner. I'd rank the LSD in the top 3 upgrades I've done.

The Flywheel is felt, but it's not really strong. The biggest difference is most likely how the revs fall. I have to rev the car up a bit, before downshifting. The car pulls strong now, but the effects of the LSD are so overwhelming, that it's nearly impossible to tell the difference.

The clutch specialties clutch is great. It grips very firm, yet it doesn't take a strong leg to press it in. It feels like a stock clutch, but grips a lot more.

The install was a pain. I had help from a honda mechanic, but it's a lot of work. You have to drop the tranny out to do it. I don't know why anybody would want to install a KAAZ LSD and rebuild this thing, it's too much work. We used a friends shop, with a lift. YOu really cannot do it without it.

Long term results will show more, once the clutch is worked in. I love it!

Dropping trannies is easy as pie. i could probally change out the diff and everything and have it back in running condition in 4 hours. With hand tools, no lift, and my small 120 pound body by myself mind you. doing a b series is so easy because the drive train is still supported by the engine mounts when you take out the tranny. If you need a lift to change out a tranny, i would hate to see how youd do a d series considering the motor need to be held with a hoist. The secret trick is using a floor jack to raise and lower the transmission for assembly and removal. Realistically the lift is more of an obstical than help.

It took myself and a honda mechanic a good 6-7 hours, with a lift. The civic trannies are easier, but the integra ones are a little more complex.

    lundgren,
Im in the same point and time as you. I have to deside between clutches and diffs. I know I want a C.S but I was talking with brian over there and he suggested a Iron disk and Heavyduty P.P. As for the diff, I still cant deside. I can find a used R or I can pay through the a$$ and get a quaife. I also know I should get a flywheel but Im not to sure if its worth it? Any help and some guiding insite would be great!!
    thanks

Good job Lund...I don't think that was bad for your first round. Think the quickest we've done a clutch on a Teg, is a hour and 45 mins on jack stands with air tools(don't work without them anymore) I haven't done a LSD yet, so I don't know how far that would set me back. Of course, I do this kind of thing every weekend as a second income... Did my first JRSC in a 14hr straight stint... again, helps if you do this kind of thing often...the JRSC would have gone quicker if I'd paid attention to the instructions...

    Question

    Jeff & SEFI8LO,

Nice pictures on the LSD Jeff. Guys, what are some of the things that I should be looking for when installing an LSD? What to do and what not to do? I wouldn't mind doing this myself! Any help Hooper? Are there any SPECIAL TOOLS that I need for this job? New Transmission oil I take it?

Any help would be fantastic. No I don't have air tools and no I don't have access to a lift either.

    Thanks!

If you have to ask how to install it, you shouldn't do it, it's too complex.
